GYPSY LATIN JAZZ WORLD
Accomplished singer Carina La Dulce and virtuoso guitarist Sasha Kolpakov perform original songs as well as hits from around the world, all in a unique Gypsy Fusion style which blends authentic traditions and modern sound.
In their latest program Gelem, Carina and Sasha drew inspiration from Gypsy music and songs of Spain, India, Africa, and Brazil. With unrestrained energy, the duo delight audiences with romantic melodies and catchy rhythms.
CARINA LA DULCE
Of Russian origin with Romani (Gypsy) and Spanish roots, Carina is a singer and author, performing her own works in a vast array of genres, from Flamenco to Latin, Jazz to World Music. She is the winner of a special jury prize of one of the largest flamenco festivals "¡Viva España!"
Her accomplishments are as varied as her talents. She is a soloist of big flamenco shows Flamenco: Inside and Outside and Picasso. She is a special guest artist of the Spanish Dance Theater, World Music Orchestra Sambateria, Spanish classic and Sephardic music projects.
Also she is a special guest artist of the VS Guitar Duo, a project of Sasha Kolpakov and his uncle Vadim Kolpakov, the world-renowned Russian-Romani (Gypsy) seven-string guitarist, special guest artist of Madonna’s world tour “Sticky & Sweet”.
Carina tours Europe and CIS countries with concerts in such prestigious halls as the House of Music and Crocus City Hall among others. She was performing for officials of Russia and Spain and participated in a variety of international music festivals.
A member of the famous Romani (Gypsy) artistic dynasty that has given the world three generations of exceptional musicians, is a virtuoso guitarist in his own right.
He continues the family traditions of guitar mastery, which he adopted from his grandfather Alexander Kolpakov, a celebrated Russian-Gypsy guitarist, and uncle Vadim Kolpakov, a virtuoso seven-string guitarist. Both Alexander and Vadim performed as special guests on Madonna’s Sticky and Sweet world tour.
Sasha has been actively performing and competing both in Russia and abroad with various musical ensembles, including appearances as an invited soloist of the US-based band Via Romen in Singapore in 2014, and as a leading guitarist on world tour with the ice show Carmen by Olympic champion Ilya Averbukh. Sasha is also a recipient of numerous awards as a guitarist at national and international music competitions.
Sasha has collaborated with American production companies Musical Connection. He represents Kremona Guitars.
